Singer Sheikh Shahed Ali, known for the song "Rokzana," is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in the capital. He has been suffering from long-term kidney complications. Recently, following a stroke, he contracted dengue, which led to a further deterioration in his health. This information was shared with the media by his friend, Ershadul Haque.
Ershadul mentioned that Shahed has been battling this illness for a long time and has been on regular dialysis for the past four years. On October 24, he was admitted to the hospital due to a sodium deficiency in his body.
However, the artist’s situation did not improve after his admission. According to Ershadul, Shahed suffered a stroke while in the hospital. Since then, he has been unable to speak normally and now communicates through gestures.
The situation worsened when tests revealed that he had also contracted dengue. As his condition deteriorated further, he was moved to a High Dependency Unit (HDU) on October 31, and subsequently transferred to the ICU of another private hospital in the capital.
Sheikh Shahed is the founder of the band "Gach" and has been active in the music scene since the 1990s. Also known as "Rokzana Shahed," his popular songs include "Rokzana," "Upolobdhi," "Classroom-e Boshe Shekha," "Ootpakhir Dim," "Khola Chul," and "Prem Ashbei." His debut album, "Probhu," was released in 1991, followed by five other albums.
Due to his illness, the release of his new music has been put on hold. There are currently 24 songs, crafted over the span of 11 years, which are awaiting release.
