Actors Tawsif Mahbub and Safa Kabir have drawn attention after appearing together in a video dressed for a traditional gaye holud ceremony, prompting speculation that the footage was from a new drama.
However, the video is part of a promotional campaign for a company that designs and sells outfits for wedding events.
Filmed at a resort, the advertisement features Safa in a yellow lehenga with colourful designs and Tawsif in a yellow panjabi and kurta. Several other young people appear alongside them, creating the atmosphere of a pre-wedding celebration.
The video has attracted considerable attention on social media, with views reaching around 450,000 within two days of its release. Many viewers praised the on-screen chemistry between the two actors, while some mistook the footage for a scene from a drama.
Tawsif and Safa have been friends for years. Although they began their careers in showbiz around the same time, their friendship dates back even further.
They recently travelled to Sylhet with friends to celebrate Tawsif's birthday, which fell on October 27. Tawsif's wife, actress Mumtahina Chowdhury Toya and actor Syed Zaman Shawon also joined the trip. Actor Siam Ahmed was unable to attend due to work commitments.
Sharing a photograph from the trip, Tawsif wrote that age and time change, but some friendships remind him that many things in life are still beautiful.
Tawsif will next be seen in filmmaker Shihab Shaheen's web film *Cafe Umbrella*, released on iScreen. The film also features Bidushi Barnita, Nazah Nawar, Partha Sheikh, Amina Islam and Arefin Zillani.
