Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and US President Donald Trump discussed diplomatic efforts to ease regional tensions during a phone call on Friday (November 6), according to a Qatari statement.
The call came as Iran has submitted a nuclear proposal to Washington through Qatar, with a senior Iranian official telling Reuters that the US was reviewing it.
The official said further discussions would depend on Washington meeting Tehran's seven demands, including sanctions relief, access to frozen assets and war reparations. Washington, meanwhile, insists that nuclear issues must be included in initial talks.
