Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed stated that fascist Sheikh Hasina removed faith and trust in Almighty Allah from the fundamental principles of state policy in the Constitution.
Speaking on Friday (6 November) before Jummah prayers at the closing day of the 104th annual Islamic conference at Babunagar Madrasah in Fatikchhari, Chittagong, the minister pledged that BNP would restore these Islamic values in the Constitution alongside implementing the July Charter. The conference was chaired by Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shah Muhammad Muhibbullah Babunagari.
The Home Minister declared that the people of Bangladesh will never allow the Awami League to engage in politics again following its involvement in mass killings and torture over the past 16 to 17 years.
He highlighted that around 1,400 people were martyred during the July-August mass uprising according to UN estimates, while nearly 3,000 individuals were subjected to enforced disappearance over the preceding regime. He also asserted that the ongoing labor instability in the garment sector is backed by fascist elements trying to disrupt national stability.
Addressing the gathering, Salahuddin Ahmed urged all political groups to offer constructive criticism and support national development while keeping the country united to enhance employment, economic growth, and living standards.
The conference was attended by State Minister for Religious Affairs Shamim Kaiser Lincoln, local MP Sarwar Alamgir, Raozan MP Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury, Rangunia MP Hummam Quader Chowdhury, Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Zahidul Islam Miah, and Chittagong Superintendent of Police Masud Alam, alongside prominent Islamic scholars and local dignitaries.
