NSTU hosts career seminar to connect students with alumni

NOAKHALI, Nov 6: Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) held a career development seminar on Friday, bringing students and accomplished alumni together to share professional experiences, career guidance and networking opportunities.

The seminar, titled “NSTU Alumni-Student Connect: Success Stories, Career Guidance and Networking,” was jointly organised by the NSTU Alumni Association and the university’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at the Bir Sreshtha Shaheed Mohammad Ruhul Amin Auditorium.

NSTU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Golam Rabbani, the chief guest, urged current students to draw inspiration from alumni who have established successful careers at home and abroad, often despite limited resources and opportunities during their university years.

He said the initiative would strengthen ties between former and current students and called on distinguished alumni to support the university’s upcoming third convocation, introduce merit-based scholarships and contribute to academic curriculum development.

Rabbani also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to improving education and research facilities through ongoing development initiatives.

Treasurer Prof Dr Mohammad Hasan Uddin and IQAC Director Prof Dr Asadun Nabi attended as special guests. The seminar was chaired by NSTU Alumni Association Convener Dr Mohammad Shahid Sarwar.

Keynote speakers included BM Shahriar Abdullah Bin Farid, Additional Superintendent of Police at Bangladesh Police Headquarters; Dr Syed Masudur Rahman, Associate Professor of Pharmacy at United International University; and Kamrul Hasan Rimel, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj.

Other distinguished alumni shared practical advice on career planning, higher education opportunities, professional skills and workplace preparation.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to participating students and commemorative crests to invited guests by the vice-chancellor.
