Liberation War Minister Ahmed Azam Khan has said conspirators are still active and attempting to undermine democracy and the country's economy.

“Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has started working to rebuild the country in line with democratic principles, but the conspirators are not sitting idle,” he said.

He made the remarks at a discussion at the Liberation War Museum in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Saturday (November 7), marking National Revolution and Solidarity Day.

He alleged that conspirators had attempted to destabilise the garment sector through unrest and vandalism to weaken the economy.

He said the government aimed to build a prosperous and democratic Bangladesh by upholding the spirit of November 7.

Regarding the ministry's activities, he said work had begun to prepare a list of genuine Liberation War martyrs, adding that discussions were underway to build national consensus on the issue.
