Workshop on capacity building in addressing climate change held in Khulna City

KHULNA, Oct 28: A capacity building workshop was held by Adams Foundation in response to addressing the impact of climate change on Monday.

The workshop was arranged under the project 'Multi-Actor Partnership (MAP) on climate related Loss & Damage, supporting the establishment of the national mechanism on loss and damage in Bangladesh' at Adams Integrated Training Institute (AITI).

Additional Divisional Commissioner  (Development)-Khulna Abu Syed Md Monjur Alam was present as the chief guest. 

Environment Science Discipline of Khulna University Professor Dr Atikul Islam, and Agro Technology Discipline of Khulna University Professor Dr Sarwar Jahan were present as key-note speakers. 

The event was chaired by Executive Director of Adams Foundation Ali Aslam.

Government officials, local and international NGOs, civil society organizations, academics, and media personnel took part in the workshop.

The objective of the workshop was to enable participants in the understanding of climate change in both national and global perspectives.

It discussed in detail the impact of climate change and loss and damage.

This training is supposed to help the participants  in climate action with better understanding;  participants will be able to relate the concept of loss and damage in their respective sectors while taking part in supporting the establishment of national mechanism for climate related loss and damage in Bangladesh.
