Five held with firearms, drugs in Khulna

KHULNA, Jan 1: Joint forces arrested five individuals along with firearms and drugs in Khulna City early in the morning.
The arrested are Imon Sharif and Sabuj Saha, both from Matiakhali under Labanchara Police Station in the city, Faruk Hossain from Sonadanga Police Station; Shahriar from Kaukhali Upazila in Pirojpur District and Sajol Khan, a resident of Jaikul area, from the same district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of joint forces officials conducted a drive in Matiakhali area under Labanchara Police Station in the city and arrested the quintet from the spot.
Joint forces also recovered six rounds of shotgun bullets, two bottles of foreign liquor, two machetes and 11 pieces of mobile phones from their possessions.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Labanchara Police Station Md Tuhinuzzaman said,  a case has been filed against the arrested individuals.
