Superstar Thalapathi Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, has already created a record-breaking buzz even before its release, with advance ticket sales crossing ₹15 crore globally.

The political action film, set to release next week, saw massive demand following a grand audio launch in Malaysia, despite no official trailer being released yet.

The film has attracted widespread attention as Vijay’s last project before entering politics.

Fans and media have also speculated whether Johnnayagan is a remake of popular Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer Bhagavant Kesari. Director H. Vinoth addressed this, saying that while the story may be inspired by certain elements, audiences need not worry.

“This is a Thalapathi Vijay film. Watch at least one show, and you’ll understand,” he said, adding that teasers, trailers and songs will follow soon.

The movie has generated tremendous overseas interest, with advance bookings alone earning ₹11–12 crore from markets including North America, the UK and Australia, where Vijay commands a strong fan base.

In India, the advance sales have reached ₹3 crore so far, limited to Karnataka and Kerala.

Trade analysts expect a major surge once bookings open in Tamil Nadu and other key regions, which traditionally contribute heavily to Vijay’s opening day collections.

Industry tracker Saknilk said the pre-release hype and advance bookings signal a highly successful launch for Vijay’s politically significant final film.
