Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus has called on participating countries, institutions and stakeholders to deepen cooperation and work in partnership at the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2026.

In a message issued on December 31 marking the occasion, Prof Yunus said the interim government remains firmly focused on maintaining economic stability while accelerating sustainable growth.

Describing the fair as a significant platform, he noted that it reflects country’s growing potential in the global marketplace.

The month-long fair is scheduled to begin on Saturday at Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin is set to inaugurate the event at 10:00 am.

The fair was initially planned to open on January 1 but was postponed following the demise of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Extending greetings to local and international entrepreneurs, investors, traders and buyers, the chief adviser underscored the fair’s importance in promoting domestic products and expanding export opportunities.

He said the event also allows local businesses and consumers to gain exposure to global standards, designs and emerging international market trends.

Prof Yunus observed that over the years this fair has established itself as an effective venue for presenting high-quality Bangladeshi products to both domestic and overseas visitors, buyers and importers.

In this context, he described the fair as a key instrument in advancing trade, investment and industrial development.

Expressing optimism, he said the fair would help stimulate economic activity, generate employment and further strengthen Bangladesh’s export base.

He added that by encouraging product diversification, supporting local industries and attracting foreign investment, the event would contribute meaningfully to the country’s overall development.

Wishing the 30th edition of this fair every success, Prof Yunus expressed hope that DITF 2026 would evolve into a dynamic, buyer-friendly and festive gathering through the active participation and collaboration of all stakeholders.
