A Dhaka court on Monday ordered to show former ICT state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak arrested in a case filed over an attempted murder of Md Durjoy Ahammed during the July Mass Uprising in 2024.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Ehsanul Islam passed the order after Palak was produced before the court and pleaded to be shown as arrested in the case.

According to the case, on 20 July 2024, the complainant, Md Durjoy Ahammed, joined the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Durjoy was shot in the eyes and also sustained serious injuries to the back of his head, allegedly fired by Awami League cadres. Durjoy, however, became blind for life.

On 20 November 2024, Durjoy filed a case of attempted murder with Badda Police Station against 90 people, including the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, in connection with the incident.
