COX'S BAZAR, JAN 29: Salahuddin Ahmed, member of BNP's National Standing Committee, said on Wednesday that the party will achieve a landslide victory in the upcoming 12 February parliamentary election under the paddy sheaf symbol. He said the party will form a government where all citizens are owners of the state and will restore people's rights and democratic control.
Addressing election rallies at BMS High School field in Saharbil Union, Chakaria, he said, "Your vote is your choice. Cast it for the candidate you prefer. Strengthen democracy so that no one ever goes missing in Bangladesh again, and no mother has to suffer losing her child. BNP will create such a Bangladesh where disappearances will not occur. Those who struggled for democracy must be honoured."
Salahuddin Ahmed added that BNP's programmes, plans, and vision for the state align with people's aspirations, which will earn them votes. He emphasised that voters should remain cautious of other parties that promise rewards or mislead the public with false claims.
Recalling his own struggle for democracy, he said, "During our fight for democracy, my life was at risk. We lost the freedom to speak, and citizens could not exercise their voting rights. This time, people will vote freely for their chosen candidates."
District BNP leaders, including Office Secretary Yusuf Badri, Matamuhuri Upazila BNP President Jamil Ibrahim Chowdhury, General Secretary Hefazatur Rahman Tipu, and Organisational Secretary Shoaibul Islam Shobuj, also spoke at the rallies.
