SANTHIA, PABNA, Feb 5: The annual sports competition and prize-giving ceremony of Santhia Government College in Pabna was held on the college campus on Tuesday, under the slogan "Healthy body, healthy mind, drug-free campus."
The event was inaugurated with the national anthem, hoisting of the national flag, and recitation from the Holy Quran.
The prize distribution ceremony was held after the competition, with College Principal Prof Dr AKM Shawkat Ali Khan presiding and Lecturer Mozammel Haque, head of the Department of Social Work, conducting the programme.
College Inspector of the Rajshahi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Prof Md Mahbub Hasan attended the programme as the chief guest.
Among others present were Teachers' Association General Secretary Lecturer Muhammad Abdul Momin Mukti, Joint Secretary Lecturer Dr Mohammad Kamruzzaman Bokul, Academic Council Member Secretary Lecturer Hossain Al Mansur, former principals Ashraful Alam Majnu, Abdul Malek, Mohammad Ali and Dibakar Kumar Ghosh, former assistant professors Abdud Dayen Sarkar and Abdus Sattar, Sports Committee Convener Lecturer Saiful Islam, Sports Secretary Lecturer Kamruzzaman Khan, Member Secretary and physical education teacher Mostafizur Rahman Mukti, Result Compilation Committee Convener Lecturer Abdul Alim, and members Asma Khatun, Shahida Khatun, Taslima Parveen and Umme Salma.
The commentary was conducted by Lecturers Akmal Hossain and Kamrun Nahar Azad, while Lecturer Masum Al Firoz served as convener of the panel of judges for track and field events. Teachers, staff, and students of the college were also present.
Motaleb Hossain Biswas served as the field marshal during the competitions.
