Illegal firearms, ammo recovered at C’nawabganj border area

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-53) recovered illegal firearms and ammunition from Shibganj border area of Chapainawabganj district early Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB officials from Masudpur Border Outpost (BOP) conducted a drive at around 5:30 AM in Thuthapara area of Manakasha union under Shibganj upazila and recovered illegal firearms and ammunition in an abandoned condition.

BGB recovered two foreign-made pistols, four magazines and three rounds of ammunition from the spot.

BGB-53 Battalion Commander Lt Col Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the incident through a press briefing.

He also added that such anti-smuggling and security operations will continue in the future.
