Calm, orderly voting observed in Dhaka cantonment

Voting at Muslim Modern Academy polling centre at Old Kachukhet in Dhaka Cantonment, proceeded in a peaceful and well-organized manner, with a moderate turnout recorded by mid-afternoon.

Presiding Officer Jahangir Alam described the overall situation as excellent. “The environment is so good that there is little more to say. There is sufficient presence of law enforcement agencies, and everything is running smoothly,” he said. 

He added that voter turnout was higher in the morning but began to decline after noon.

According to official data provided by the presiding officer, the centre has a total of 2,884 registered voters. By 2:30 PM, 962 voters had cast their ballots, marking a turnout of 33 percent.

A visit to the centre at 3:30 PM showed that most booths were empty, with voting continuing at a few stations. 

However, there were no queues, and voters were able to cast their ballots without waiting.
