Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Wednesday described the replacement of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur with Mostakur Rahman as a “normal process,” stating that personnel changes are expected across various institutions after a new government takes office.
Speaking to journalists while leaving the Secretariat, Khasru downplayed the significance of the move.
"A new government has come to power. Many things will change. A change has occurred here, and this is not new," he said. "Changes will happen in many other places. It is a normal process."
When asked by reporters if there was a specific reason for the swift change at the helm of the country's central bank, the finance minister deflected the question, reiterating, "There will be changes in many other places. There is no special reason."
