The Power Division has said all complaints regarding unusually high electricity bills have already been investigated and resolved in coordination with the country’s electricity distribution companies, dismissing what it described as misinformation over the issue.

In a statement issued on Tuesday night, the division said there was no basis for further speculation or confusion, as the complaints had been addressed following investigations conducted with the relevant distribution companies.

The statement also rejected claims of excessive electricity bills being circulated by certain individuals and groups, describing them as misleading.

The Power Division urged consumers who believe they have been overcharged to lodge complaints with the relevant authorities, along with supporting documents. It said every complaint would be investigated thoroughly and appropriate action would be taken if any irregularities were found.

The division also called on consumers to act responsibly and refrain from spreading unverified information regarding electricity bills.
