Court orders Interpol red notice for Tulip Siddiq

A Dhaka court has ordered issuance of an Interpol red notice to arrest British-Bangladeshi politician Tulip Rizwana Siddiq in a corruption case.

Judge Md Sabbir Foyez of the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Court passed the order on Thursday following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the ACC, Siddiq is accused of abusing influence to obtain an apartment from Eastern Housing Limited without payment, allegedly receiving it as an illegal benefit through a registered deed.
