A Dhaka court on Sunday ordered the publication of a gazette notice asking Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, daughter of Sheikh Rehana and former Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) assistant legal adviser Sardar Mosharraf Hossain, to appear before the court in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) over the alleged illegal acquisition of a flat in Gulshan-2.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Sabbir Foyez passed the order and set March 29 for a report.
Earlier, on February 18, the court accepted the charge sheet and issued arrest warrants against the two. The court later also allowed the ACC to seek an Interpol Red Notice for Tulip’s arrest.
According to the case statement, the accused allegedly abused their authority to take possession of a flat owned by Eastern Housing Limited in Gulshan-2 without payment and later registered it. ACC submitted the charge sheet on December 11 after completing the investigation.
