The action was carried out on Tuesday afternoon in Hamidpur Village under Sindurkhana Union through a mobile court led by a joint team of RAB-9, CPC-2 Sreemangal, and the Moulvibazar district administration. According to RAB-9's Additional Police Superintendent and Media Officer K.M. Shahidul Islam Sohag, the operation was based on a tip-off regarding illegal processing of fake tea.

The accused, Md. Abdur Rahim, 60, was charged under Section 42 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, for producing adulterated tea. The seized counterfeit tea was dumped in nearby paddy fields and destroyed on the spot.
