Drug addict sentenced to jail in Dinajpur

A mobile court in Chirirbandar of Dinajpur district has sentenced a drug addict to six months in prison and imposed a fine. 

According to police, on Friday at 10PM, during an anti-drug operation led by SI Ibrahim, the police arrested Nabaraj Roy, 23, while he was consuming drugs in an abandoned house.

Upon receiving the news, Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Fateha Tuz Zohra quickly reached the scene and set up a mobile court and sentenced the drug addict to six months imprisonment and fined him Tk 100.

Officer-in-charge of Chirirbandar Police Station Mahmudun-Nabi confirmed that the arrested person has been produced in the court.

The drive to eradicate drugs at any cost will continue in the entire police station area, the OC added.
