7 arrested in anti-drug drive in Noakhali

Noakhali district police have seized 85 yaba tablets and 130 grams of cannabis under a anti-drug drive across all police stations in the district to curb the growing threat of drugs and bring drug dealers to justice.

police conducted a total of 26 anti-drug operations in different areas of the district following instructions from Noakhali Superintendent of Police NM Nasiruddin On Wednesday.

Police said, “four people were arrested in regular cases during the drive.Three regular cases were filed in connection with drug-related offences.”

In addition, 23 people were sentenced to different terms and fined through mobile courts. In total, legal action was taken against 27 people during the drive.

Noakhali District Police said they are following a “zero tolerance” policy against drugs. Such drives will continue against those involved in drug dealing, supply and consumption.
