These decisions were made during the first meeting of the Parliamentary Business Advisory Committee of the 13th National Parliament, held on Saturday at the Cabinet Room of the National Parliament Building. The meeting was chaired by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, who also serves as the committee's chairman.
Key attendees included Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman, Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqul Rahman, and other committee members. Other participants were Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Chief Whip Md. Nurul Islam, Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman, MP ATM Azharul Islam, Opposition Chief Whip Md. Nahid Islam, and MP Muhammad Naushad Zamir. Deputy Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal attended as a special invitee.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed confirmed the decisions.
During the meeting, the committee discussed time allocation and the duration of the first session, deciding to allocate 50 hours for discussion on the President's address. According to the presented information, the parliament has received a total of 468 questions: 8 for the Prime Minister and 460 for other ministers. Additionally, 27 notices for attention under Rule 71 and 97 notices for resolution proposals under Rule 131 have been submitted.
The parliamentary schedule indicates that after the second sitting on Sunday, March 15, the session will remain adjourned from March 16 and resume on March 29.
The committee also discussed legislative preparations, including forming a special committee to review 133 ordinances. Further deliberations will take place regarding the Constitution Reform Council.
The first session of the 13th National Parliament began on March 12, when the Business Advisory Committee was formed under the Speaker's chairmanship, alongside four additional parliamentary committees.
