Mirza Abbas, Prime Minister's political adviser and a member of the BNP standing committee, will be taken to Singapore for advanced medical treatment.
His personal secretary, Mizanur Rahman Sohel, told the Daily Observer that the ailing senior leader is scheduled to depart by air ambulance at 11 am on Sunday.
His wife, Afroza Abbas, president of the Nationalist Women's Organization, and eldest son Mirza Yasir Abbas Bhashan will accompany him.
Mirza Abbas is currently under close observation following two brain surgeries on Friday at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
According to BNP Health Affairs Secretary Rafiqul Islam, a brain scan conducted on Saturday morning showed positive results.
The senior leader's condition deteriorated suddenly on Thursday while drinking water during iftar. He lost consciousness and was admitted to Evercare Hospital that night. Initial CT scans revealed worsening conditions, prompting a virtual medical board to convene and recommend surgery.
The operation was carried out in two phases on Friday, and he is now being monitored continuously for 72 hours.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been regularly checking on his condition and visited him at Evercare Hospital on Friday afternoon.
Other national leaders, including Local Government Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Opposition Leader and Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, also visited to inquire about his health.
