Hili Land Port of the Dinajpur will remain closed for 10 days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, according to the port sources.

There will be no import and export at the port during this period.

However, the movement of passengers with valid passports and visas between India and Bangladesh through check posts will remain normal, Professor Md Shahinur Islam, General Secretary of the Hili Customs C&F Agents Association, confirmed the matter on Sunday morning.

He said that it has been decided to close the import-export activities of goods through the Hili land port from March 18 to 27.

This decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the organization.

He further said that all the activities of the port will resume from March 28.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hili Immigration Checkpost Md Ariful Islam said that although border commercial activities at the port are closed, the movement of passport-holding passengers between India and Bangladesh will remain normal.

Assistant Revenue Officer of Hili Land Customs Station Md Amir Hamza said that import-export activities will be closed during this period due to government holidays of Eid-ul-fitr.

However, the official work of the customs office will continue on those days other than government holidays.
