Mirza Fakhrul assigned to oversee parliamentary affairs in PM’s absence

The government has assigned Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to oversee parliamentary affairs in the absence of the Prime Minister, according to a gazette notification issued on Tuesday by the Cabinet Division.

The notification states that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will carry out his duties related to the Prime Minister’s Office during sessions of the 13th National Parliament. 

However, when he is unavailable, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will assume responsibility for managing parliamentary business.

Signed by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani, the order takes immediate effect.
