Dear Sir,
Every year, when the results of university admission tests are published in the country, many students fail to meet required standards. A significant number perform poorly in English, showing weak foundations. Success in competitive exams depends on strong basic knowledge built at school.
A student without fundamentals is like a tree without roots. Strong foundations allow greater achievement later. Yet many learners are not taught in ways that prepare them well. Responsibility lies largely with education planners, not only teachers.
Without reform, learners will keep struggling in higher exams. Policymakers must integrate practical grammar learning and ensure proper teaching so students build strong foundations for future success. Only then can schooling support learners and help them compete confidently in universities job markets and national examinations across the country and ensure long term academic growth.
