Bangladesh went down 1-0 to Singapore in their final match of Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers at National Stadium in Singapore on Tuesday evening.
Despite a strong start, the team could not find the equalizer, leaving them with 5 points from 6 matches and third place in the group.
The only goal came in the 31st minute when Harris Stuart finished a counterattack following a pass from Ikhsan Fandi.
Bangladesh pressed hard after conceding, creating several chances through Hamza Choudhury, Fahim and Morsalin, but were unable to break through Singapore’s defense. A potential penalty appeal in the 39th minute was also denied by the referee.
Coach Javier Cabrera made three substitutions in the second half, bringing on Shahriar Emon, Bishwanath Ghosh and Mirazul Islam, but the score remained unchanged.
