The American military Boeing C-17 Globemaster transport plane suddenly landed at Moscow's Vnukovo International Airport, after which, reportedly, CIA Director John Ratcliffe made a covert trip to the Russian capital.
According to American media outlet CBS, Ratcliffe visited Moscow on a secret mission. However, both Washington and Moscow have failed to explain the reason behind his visit and the people who he met.
According to flight tracking data, the American plane departed from Russia to Latvia, and a diplomatic delegation was observed to be in Moscow, but it could not be confirmed independently whether Ratcliffe was a part of that delegation.
A senior Ukrainian official revealed to CBS that it had been notified about the high-ranking US delegation's visit to Moscow and had been requested to hold back from any attacks on Russia until the delegation left the country.
According to former British military official John Foreman, the visit could be made to reduce tensions, considering the increasing concern about the potential Russian participation in German drones' activities.
