KAMALGANJ, MOULVIBAZAR, Apr 7:  In an unusual gesture amid the ongoing fuel crisis, a young man in Kamalganj Upazila of Moulvibazar presented his friend with octane as a wedding gift, drawing widespread attention in the area.

The incident took place on Monday at Tatriuli Village in Karmadha Union during the wedding of expatriate Atikur Rahman Liton.

His close friend, Masum Ahmed, broke with tradition by offering two litres of octane instead of conventional gifts. Guests expressed curiosity and praised the symbolic move.

Locals said the shortage of fuel in recent weeks has caused considerable hardship. Masum explained that his gift was both a reflection of current realities and a token of friendship. "Fuel is scarce these days. To wish my friend well in a different way, I decided to present octane as a symbolic gift," he said.
