2 traders fined in N’ganj over producing, hoarding edible oil

A mobile court run by Rupganj Upazila Administration and RAB-11 fined two companies on Thursday over illegally producing and storing edible oil. 

During a drive at Tarabo area under Rupganj Police Station jurisdiction, Zahirul Islam Saikat, owner of a company named Simu Consumer Products, was fined Tk 1 lakh and Abdul Baten Dewan, owner of M/s Dewan Enterprises, was fined Tk 50,000.

RAB-11 said in a press release that confidential sources have revealed that the mentioned two company have been illegally producing oil and selling it by leveling different brands for a long time. 

At the time of the drive, about 20,000 liters of illegal edible oil was bottled in gallons of different sizes in the two establishments. 

RAB-11's campaign against illegal storage of edible oil and production of adulterated products will continue, reads the release.
