3 held after hoarding 1200 litres of petrol in Noakhali

Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested three individuals along with 1,200 litres of illegally hoarded petrol during a drive in Noakhali Sadar upazila on Wednesday night.

The arrested were identified as Md Mushfiqur Rahman Mahi, 19, a resident of Chaprashi Bari, Mahmudul Hasan, 26, a resident of Manik Huzur Bari and Md Manjur Alam, 53 from Madhusudanpur area’s Pandit Bari.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB officials conducted a raid at a house in Laxminarayanpur area under Noakhali municipality, arrested the trio and recovered a huge amount of illegally hoarded fuel.

Police also seized a pickup used for transporting the fuel.

District DB officer-in-charge (OC) Md Mohin Uddin said that a case is being prepared under the Special Powers Act with Sudharam Model Police Station in connection with the incident.
