Cop 'commits suicide' in Khulna 

KHULNA, Apr 18: A police constable on duty at the armory (magazine guard) area at the Khulna Railway Police Lines and identified as Samrat Biswas (BP No: 9918214929) died in an alleged suicide incident early Saturday.

On receiving the information, the Superintendent of Railway Police, Khulna Railway District, along with members of Sonadanga Police Station under Khulna Metropolitan Police, rushed to the scene.

Local sources also reported that the deceased's wife, Puja Biswas, is a female police member serving in Satkhira District.

When contacted, Khulna Railway Police Superintendent Ahmed Mainul Hasan said Samrat Biswas was the son of Shailen Biswas of Padmabila Village in Kashiani Upazila in Gopalganj District. He joined the unit on November 3 last year.
