Team Malorian Arms from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) has secured a historic spot in the global finals of GameJam+ 2025-26.

Comprising three computer science students, they are the first and only team from Bangladesh and South Asia to reach this stage, often called the ‘World Cup of Game Development’.

Competition began in October 2025 with 392 games submitted globally. After five rigorous rounds, including incubation and continental semifinals, Malorian Arms emerged among the final 74 contestants. They will represent the nation on May 14 in Brasilia, Brazil.

Their project, ‘Palashi " Sword and Betrayal’, is a historical narrative built using Unreal Engine. It allows players to experience the 1757 Battle of Plassey from multiple perspectives.

3D artist Shahir Awlad told media that they wanted to give history a ‘Bangali spin’. Designer Md Nazmus Sadiq also told media, “We are proud to represent Bangladesh on a global stage.” Despite the ‘toughest battle’ ahead, the team remains hopeful for the trophy.
