2 factories fined in Narayanganj

NARAYANGANJ, Apr 26: The Department of Environment (DoE) in an operation led by Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Asaduzzaman Noor on Sunday afternoon fined two factories Tk 1.50 lakh for polluting air.

A team comprising police, RAB-11 and officials from the Narayanganj District Office of the DoE participated in it. Inspector Titu Barua of the DoE conducted the prosecution.

During the operation, Jasim Uddin Knit Composite Limited located in Sastapur area of Fatullah was fined Tk 1 lakh and Katherpul SR Knit Dyeing was fined    Tk 50,000.
