Bangladesh and China have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening their existing comprehensive strategic cooperation, emphasizing enhanced collaboration in key sectors such as trade, investment, and infrastructure.
The pledge was made during a high-level meeting in Beijing between Dr Khalilur Rahman, Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, and Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, both sides expressed mutual interest in expanding development cooperation and connectivity.
They highlighted the importance of strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership to foster regional stability and economic growth. Discussions focused specifically on increasing cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure development, and logistical connectivity.
The meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir and Bangladesh's Ambassador to China, Md. Nazmul Islam.
Diplomatic observers view this high-level engagement as a significant step toward energizing bilateral ties and reinforcing the long-standing friendship between Dhaka and Beijing.
