Lightning strikes kills 3 in Naogaon

Three people were killed by lightning strikes in separate places across Niyamatpur and Mahadebpur upazilas of Naogaon district on Wednesday.

Among of them, two were reported in Niyamatpur. 

According to Niyamatpur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman a laborer died on the spot while harvesting paddy in a field in Hajinagar union. While the victim's identity remains unknown, but it was known that he might be a resident of Khaserhat Uthapara area. 

In a separate incident in Ramnagar village under Chandannagar union, another man named Anukul Chandra Mahanta was killed by a lightning strike while gathering harvested crops from the field, he added.

Meanwhile, in Mahadebpur upazila, a farmer named Dilip Chandra Barman lost his life under similar circumstances. 

Mahadebpur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Omar Faruque, confirmed that the incident occurred while Dilip was working in a field in Kurapara village of Khajur union.
