Indian Naval Ship Sunaina arrived at Chattogram Port on Friday for a three-day goodwill visit aimed at strengthening maritime cooperation and professional ties between Bangladesh and India.

Upon its arrival, the ship was received by the Chief Staff Officer of the Chattogram Naval Area.

A well-equipped Navy band performed traditional music to welcome the vessel, its captain, and the crew. Senior officials from the Bangladesh Navy and representatives from the Indian High Commission were also present during the ceremony.

Earlier, the Bangladesh Navy Ship (BNS) Ali Haider escorted and welcomed the Indian vessel as it entered Bangladesh's territorial waters.

During the stay, a delegation including the ship’s captain and the Naval Adviser of the Indian High Commission is scheduled to hold courtesy meetings with the Commander of the Chattogram Naval Area, the Commander of the BN Fleet, the Area Superintendent of the Dockyard and the Chairman of the Chattogram Port authority.

As part of the exchange program, Indian naval personnel will visit various Bangladesh Navy training bases and ships, as well as historic landmarks in Chattogram. Reciprocally, Bangladesh Navy personnel will have the opportunity to visit INS Sunaina.

Officials noted that such visits facilitate the exchange of professional expertise and further solidify the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

INS Sunaina is scheduled to depart Bangladesh waters on May 10.
