38th founding anniv of Zia Shishu-Kishore Org held

KHULNA, May 9: A day-long programme featuring a painting competition, prize-giving ceremony and special prayers was held in Khulna on Friday afternoon marking the 38th founding anniversary of Zia Shishu-Kishore Sangathan (Organisation).

Khulna metropolitan unit of the organisation arranged the programme.

A colourful painting competition participated in by children and teenagers were held at Sunflower Kindergarten School in the city on Friday. 

Later in the evening, a prayer session and dinner were arranged for orphan students at Basupara Banshtala Barakatia Hafizia Madrasa in Khulna.

Nazrul Islam Manju attended the function as the chief guest, while Rehena Isa was present as the special guest. The programme was chaired by Niaz Ahmed Tuhin.

Speakers at the organisation said a humane and ideal society could be built through the creative development, patriotism, moral education and cultural practices of children and adolescents.

They said such initiatives play an important role in inspiring the younger generation to develop their talents and intellect. 

The speakers also stressed the need for families, society and cultural organisations to come forward for nurturing children's hidden talents.

The venue turned festive with the enthusiastic participation of children in the painting competition. 

Their artworks reflected themes of patriotism, the Liberation War, nature, education and humanitarian values.
Prizes were distributed among the winners at the end of the competition.

Among others, leaders of the organisation including Mohammad Ali, Zubayer Morshed, Abu Sayeed, Mahbubul Alam, Shafiqul Hossain Shanto, Banani Sultana Jhumu, Ashraful Rahman Milon, GaziHasan Rumi, Md Farhad Hossain and Mizanur Rahman were present.
