Eminent economist Anu Mohammad has called for the publication of a comprehensive white paper examining the activities and policy decisions of the interim government led by Dr Muhammad Yunus, with particular emphasis on major economic agreements signed with different parties.
"A white paper must be published on everything that happened during the interim government," he said, stressing the need for full disclosure and accountability.
Raising concerns over recent international deals, he pointed to specific agreements requiring scrutiny. "The port agreement, the LNG agreement and the trade agreement with America; the reasons for why these agreements were made against the country's interests must be identified," he stated.
He further emphasised legal accountability for those involved in the decision making process. "Those involved in these agreements and those who provided the impetus for making these agreements must be identified and brought under the law. Along with this, necessary punishment must be provided for them," he said.
Calling for corrective policy action, Anu Mohammad argued that such agreements should be reconsidered. "These agreements against the country's interests must be cancelled in phases. The current government must take necessary measures to cancel those agreements on a priority basis," he added.
