Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday extended his heartfelt congratulations to Bangladesh national cricket team for achieving their first-ever Test victory against Pakistan on home soil.

In a congratulatory statement released by the PM's Press Wing, he praised the "Tigers" for their historic performance at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, which saw them clinch a 104-run win in the series opener.

While the team had previously recorded two Test wins against Pakistan on Pakistani soil, this success represents their inaugural home triumph over the visitors in the longest format of the game.

This result also extends Bangladesh’s winning streak against Pakistan to three consecutive Test matches.

The match concluded on the fifth day in Mirpur after Bangladesh set a challenging target of 268 runs. The home team's bowling attack dismantled the Pakistani lineup, dismissing them for 163 to seal the win and take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
