14 shops gutted in Pirojpur fire

PIROJPUR, May 12: A total 14 shops were burnt at Shariktala Bazar under Pirojpur Sadar Upazila around 1 am on Saturday. 

Burnt shops were grocery, cosmetics, medicine, decoration, and tea stall. The primary estimated loss is about Tk 1 crore. 

On information, fire service rushed to the spot and doused the flame along with locals after about one hour.
 
Fire Service Station Officer Jugal Biswas said the fire may originate from a tea stall due to short-circuit, and it will be known after proper investigation. 

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mamunur Rashid said, "We are trying to stand beside the shop owners with possible supports."
