‘Frozen 3’ first look: Anna and Kristoff’s royal wedding disrupted by new villain

Disney has unveiled the first look at Frozen 3, revealing that Anna and Kristoff’s long-awaited royal wedding will be disrupted by a new villain.

The footage was shown at Disney’s D23 fan event on Friday. The third instalment of the hit animated franchise is scheduled to hit theatres on November 24, 2027.

Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, who voice Anna and Elsa, appeared at the event and confirmed that Anna and Kristoff will marry in the new film.

The footage then showed Anna and Kristoff’s wedding apparently being interrupted by a mysterious new villain. In another scene, the pair are seen travelling through an icy forest before the villain appears from a snowy peak and says, “The sisters of Arendelle, we finally meet.”

Josh Gad, who voices Olaf, also appeared at the event, while Jonathan Groff returns as Kristoff.

The first Frozen, released in 2013, earned $1.28 billion worldwide, while Frozen II grossed $1.45 billion in 2019.

Frozen 3 was originally scheduled for release in 2026 but was postponed to 2027. Gad previously said the delay was intended to ensure the film would live up to the expectations surrounding the franchise.

Disney has also announced that a fourth Frozen film is in development, although no release date has been set.
