Three killed in road mishaps in two dists

Three people were killed and one was injured in separate road accidents in Natore and Faridpur districts on Saturday.

GURUDASPUR, NATORE: A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a speeding truck at Gopaler Mor on Garishapara Road in Gurudaspur Municipality of the district on Saturday noon. Another young man named Akash, who was with him, was injured in the incident.

Deceased Shanto, 25, was the son of Saidul Islam Habu of Darikachikata Village in the upazila. He was an agent banking trader in Kachikata Bazar.

The police arrested the truck the driver Shaheen and seized the truck and took them to the police station.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gurudaspur Police Station (PS) Manjurul Alam said that legal action will be taken if a complaint is received from the deceased's family.

BHANGA, FARIDPUR: Two people were killed when a bus ran over them while they were repairing a freight truck's wheel in front of the Bagail toll plaza on the Bhanga Expressway in the district early Saturday.
 
The deceased were Yusuf Ali, 50, a resident of Rupdia area of Jashore Sadar Upazila, and his son Yakub Ali, 26. Yakub was the driver of the truck and Yusuf Ali was the helper.

Sergeant Mohammad Shahadat Hossain of Shibchar Highway Police Station (PS) said that an unidentified bus heading towards Bhanga ran over them and they were killed on the spot. 

Bhanga Highway PS OC Md Helal Uddin said that the incident is being investigated by Shibchar Highway PS.

Shibchar Highway PS OC Md Mizanur Rahman said that efforts are being made to identify the bus involved in the accident.
