Qatar labour minister pays courtesy call on PM

Qatar’s Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Samikh Al Marri paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka on Sunday evening.

The meeting took place during the Qatari minister’s two-day official visit to Bangladesh aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Humayun Kabir, was present during the meeting.

Qatar Foreign Ministry Ambassador Braik Saeed Al Samikh also attended the courtesy call.

Earlier in the day, Dr Ali bin Samikh Al Marri arrived in Dhaka on an official visit.

During the visit, issues related to labour cooperation, manpower export and the welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates in Qatar are expected to receive importance in bilateral discussions between the two countries.
