
KHULNA, May 18: Administrator of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Nazrul Islam Manju on Sunday evening said the country's transformation would come through the hands of the youths, as they have to engage in struggle to realise their dreams and eventually emerge as victorious.
He said these while addressing a discussion marking the anniversary of 'Rongmohol for Youth' at Ward No. 19 office in the city. The organisation works on child protection, youth empowerment and climate justice issues.
Speaking at the programme titled "Community Change through the Voice of Youth", Manju said cooperation from young people is essential to build a safe and clean city and plans are being taken involving them in the process.
Highlighting the importance of parental responsibility in preventing the spread of drugs, he said to the parents, "If our children remain well, we will also remain well."
Founder President of the organisation Md Alvi Sheikh chaired the discussion, and General Secretary (GS) Mousumi Roy and Jabin Taskeen delivered the welcome speech.
Among others, Citizens' Forum GS SM Iqbal Hasan Tuhin, Executive Director of Rupantar Swapan Guha and teacher Rehena Isa spoke as special guests.
Rahima Khatun and Shimla Das shared stories of transformation from their own lives at the event.
