Major changes are being introduced in the primary curriculum, said State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj on Wednesday.

The government's aim to prepare the next generation with leadership skills, civic responsibility, morality and social awareness, alongside textbook-based learning, with a view to building world-class leadership.

He made the remarks while speaking at the national 'Halde Pakhi Neel Kamal Award-2026' programme organised by Bangladesh Girl Guides Association.

''The new curriculum will focus not only on academic learning but also on practical life skills, civic sense, cleanliness and social responsibility.''

Bobby Hajjaj further said the curriculum is being designed to enable children to learn through stories, creativity and joyful methods without excessive academic pressure.

Addressing the students, he said they are the future leaders of Bangladesh who will represent the country both at home and abroad.
