Six jailed over Dhaka abduction case involving DGFI

Six people, including two DGFI members and an Ansar member, have been sent to jail over the alleged abduction and assault of a businessman and an extortion attempt in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ashraful Haque passed the order on Sunday (October 25).

According to police, the accused allegedly confined the businessman, demanded Tk 10 lakh and assaulted him. The victim later escaped from a vehicle in Shyamoli and alerted police, leading to the arrests.
