GAIBANDHA, May 23: International Day to End Obstetric Fistula was observed in the district as elsewhere in the country and the globe on Saturday with a call to build obstetric free country by 2030.

This year's theme of the day was "Her Health is a Right: Invest in Ending Fistula and Childbirth Injuries."

To mark the day, Civil Surgeon's Office chalked out elaborate programmes in cooperation with UNFPA Bangladesh and Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB).

A rally was brought out from CS office premises in the morning and ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the town. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the CS office conference room with CS Dr Rafiquzzaman in the chair.
