Govt appoints SPP to conduct Ramisa murder case

In a major move the government has appointed Advocate Azizur Rahman Dulu as Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) to conduct sensational Ramisa rape and murder case. 

The Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued an official order in this regard on Saturday.

Signed by Md Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Solicitor (GP-PP) of the Law and Justice Division, the order stated that, in accordance with Section 492 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, Advocate Azizur Rahman Dulu has been appointed as SPP to conduct the case.

The proceedings relate to Case No. 35 of Pallabi Police Station (PS), filed under Sections 9(2) and 30 of the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act, 2000, as well as Section 201 of the Penal Code. The case is currently pending before the Dhaka Metropolitan Child Violence Prevention Tribunal.
